The original photo came out very dark. I used the brightening tool to help. I also changed the levels, color balance,  and hue/saturation. I played around with each tool until I liked the outcome. I wanted the sky to be brighter then the cross and building.  Compared to the original, this photo definitely looks a lot better.

For this photo, I first used the auto tone tool and then used the vibrance tool. Both tools right away, showed a drastic change in the photo. The colors of the building, tree and furniture came out much greater. For the border, I wasn't sure if I wanted a dark or a light color. I chose a darker color, and I think it makes the photo stand out more being dark.

This photo has a huge difference compared to the original. The original photo didn't show all the different colors of the rocks as well, and was also a little dark in general. The auto tone, vibrance and level tools really helped. I played around a little with the shadow tool to get rid of some of the shadows. The different rocks and leaves stand out more with the photo being brighter.

This is by far my favorite photo that I edited. When I first took the photo, you could barely see the birds or the different imprints on the tree branches. I used the auto tone, vibrance, brightness, levels, color balance and hue/sensation tools. I wanted to show the brightness from the sky, but the darkness of the trees and really have the birds shown more. I am completely surprised I was able to show all the different aspects in the photo with just those tools considering what the original looked like.

For this photo, I wanted to brighten the sky and show the different colors of the ground, tree and building. I used the brightness, levels, color balance, vibrance and auto tone. These tools really helped make the picture stand out more and also made the day look nicer then it was when the photo was taken.

Why I took this class...

Hello :) My name is Chelsea Duva. I am a sophomore and am majoring in Elementary Education. I have a decent amount of knowledge regarding technology, I am just always interested in learning more. There are many different things I hope to accomplish from this course. Overall, I want to just have a good understanding of the programs. I work at Educational Technology, which is basically the helpdesk for blackboard. (If you have any blackboard problems, the office is located in the library, second floor, room 204!) Some of the work I have to do while working there involves these different programs. I have a brief understanding on how to use Illustrator and Photoshop but not enough. I would really like to know more about them so I can use them more at work. I also want to know more about them, so if need be, I can use them as a teacher in the future.
